Valuation is always based on EPS, not par value. If we were to change NTPM's par value to RM 1, EPS will also rise to RM 0.541. It's proportional. So par value has nothing to do with valuation of a company.

A VERY BIG question mark on the quality of the analysis by the analyst if analysis is done this way

So, as a comparative analysis, if a company such as Muda Paper(Rolling 4Q EPS = 8.6) can be valued at RM 2.15 and a growing company such as NTPM (Rolling 4Q EPS = 5.41) only be valued at RM 1 or less

1) The analyst doesn't know how to do comparative analysis and didn't do his homework properly before publishing
2) NTPM is deeply undervalued by the market
3) Muda Paper is highly overvalued by the market

NTPM just announced their latest quarterly results. Profits up 33% vs last year's. Also dividends for distribution.

Honestly, this is a very hard question for me to answer. Let's look at what we have so far.

Last week ended with a big stop to the mini down trend with the kicking pattern, which theoretical should kick the price upwards aka Bruce Lee style kick. This was confirmed with the upwards Bullish Marubuzu, which is extremely bullish.

Last week's price already broke the near term resistance, and to add to that, yesterday's closing confirmed the Kicking Pattern even further by breaking 5 Years' record high. This has set the tone for the bulls to charge with full power!!!

Price will be up to the market forces, especially when bulls are charging at this rate

Closely similar industry (packaging). Muda Paper is earning about the same amount per share as NTPM while at the same time is selling at more than RM 2.

NTPM as we know is growing(Vietnam plant).

And being in a closely related industry, don't you think NTPM is severely being undervalued by the market? Or at least similar in price per share?

Yup. Let's recap on the price action and what happened. First the mini down cycle. Then, it was broken with bulls charging in, continuing with Bullish Kicking Pattern to break the bears and kick the price up. This action, on top of the high for yesterday's trading easily broke the RM 1.02 near term resistance.

The movie starts rolling next week. Let's see how it goes.

Today, the classical bullish kicking pattern has formed!! Wachaa!! Hopefully will kick the price high up next week...

Hard to advise you on question like this, as we know it, stock investment and trading are all about probability and likelihood of the company making profit. On this front, I'd say NTPM is well covered. On the probability aspect, it just broke the major resistance through intraday penetration today. So, there's no guarantee on the movement going forward but all I can say is that your TP seems fine. Hope it helps.

That's why NTPM's shareholders are better rewarded through better earnings, translated into better share price (no offense ya)

Intraday high of RM 1.02 cleared the long time barrier set by the market. Just that it closes slightly below at RM 0.995, which I think is reasonable for today's gain.

I'm really sorry, I'm not too familiar with that, so I'm afraid I can't give you a proper opinion on it. I do see that it is in the construction industry, so fundamental wise may need to watch out as it ties very strongly to our economy.

Technical aspect wise, look at RM 1.08 as the near term resistance to cross for EconBhd to continue its uptrend. Else the uptrend may be questionable. Hope it helps.

It's been mentioned that the impairment is a one time deal kinda thing.. Without that, can we assume the profits to be much higher next year? Unless everyone stops using water
